A Comprehensive Guide To Round Table Pan Crusts

Round Table Pizza is known for its delicious and unique pan crust. This thick, buttery crust is a favorite among many pizza lovers. If you're looking to recreate the Round Table experience at home, here's a comprehensive guide to help you make the perfect pan crust pizza.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup warm water (105-115°F)

- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

- 1 tablespoon sugar

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy.

2. Stir in the olive oil, salt, and 1 cup of flour. Mix until a dough forms.

3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

5. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).

6. Grease a 12-inch cast-iron skillet or pizza pan.

7. Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll out one half of the dough into a 12-inch circle.

8. Place the dough in the prepared skillet or pan and press it into the corners.

9. Spread your desired toppings on the crust.

10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Tips:

- For a thicker crust, let the dough rise for longer.

- For a crispier crust, bake the pizza on a baking stone or pizza stone.

- To prevent the crust from burning, place a baking sheet on the rack below the pizza.
