A round bar table is a great way to add style and functionality to your home. It's perfect for entertaining guests or simply enjoying a meal or drink with friends and family. Building a round bar table out of wood and glass doors is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend.
Materials You'll Need
- Wood for the tabletop and base (such as pine, oak, or maple)
- Glass doors (such as those from an old cabinet or china hutch)
- Wood screws
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Stain or paint (optional)
- Polyurethane finish
Instructions
1. Cut the Wood
The first step is to cut the wood for the tabletop and base. The tabletop should be a circle, and the base should be a square or rectangle. The size of the tabletop and base will depend on the size of your glass doors.
2. Assemble the Base
Once you have cut the wood, you can assemble the base. Start by attaching the four legs to the bottom of the base. Then, attach the top and bottom rails to the legs. Finally, attach the side rails to the top and bottom rails.
3. Attach the Tabletop
Once the base is assembled, you can attach the tabletop. Place the tabletop on top of the base and center it. Then, drill pilot holes through the tabletop and into the base. Finally, screw the tabletop to the base.
4. Attach the Glass Doors
Once the tabletop is attached, you can attach the glass doors. Place the glass doors on top of the tabletop and center them. Then, drill pilot holes through the glass doors and into the tabletop. Finally, screw the glass doors to the tabletop.
5. Sand and Finish
Once the glass doors are attached, you can sand and finish the table. Start by sanding the entire table with 120-grit sandpaper. Then, sand the table again with 220-grit sandpaper. Finally, apply a coat of polyurethane finish. Allow the finish to dry completely before using the table.
