How to Make Wedge Placemats for a Round Tablecloth

Materials
- Fabric (1/2 yard per placemat)
- Fusible interfacing (1/4 yard per placemat)
- Bias tape (1/4 yard per placemat)

Instructions
1. Cut two circles of fabric for each placemat. The diameter of the circles should be equal to the desired diameter of the placemats plus 2 inches. For example, if you want to make 12-inch placemats, you would cut two circles that are 14 inches in diameter.
2. Cut two circles of fusible interfacing for each placemat. The diameter of the circles should be equal to the diameter of the fabric circles.
3. Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of one of the fabric circles.
4. Place the two fabric circles right sides together, and sew around the edge with a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Leave a 2-inch opening for turning.
5. Turn the placemat right side out and press.
6. Topstitch around the edge of the placemat, close to the seam.
7. Cut a piece of bias tape that is twice the length of the outer edge of the placemat plus 2 inches.
8. Fold the bias tape in half lengthwise, and press.
9. Open up the bias tape, and place it around the outer edge of the placemat, with the folded edge of the bias tape facing the placemat.
10. Sew the bias tape to the placemat with a blind stitch.
